"Het beslissende gevecht" ("The Final Battle")
And that orchestra, man. if anybody knows who’s in the pit, do tell me
From the same Hungarian that brought you TWO FOUR SIX OH YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH comes Bring Him Home - but without really trying.
And yes, you really do need to listen to this.
Ah, this brings back memories of….about an hour ago
The Final Battle - movie vocals with 25th anniversary production orchestration
I felt a big weakness of the movie was some orchestration changes made the songs weaker. I spliced together audio from the Dream the Dream cast album recording, and euneirophrenial’s vocals only version of Les Mis http://euneirophrenial.tumblr.com/post/46102446677/here-it-is-pretty-much-everything-ive-shared.
This one was rather difficult given that the energy is much different, resulting in a complete lack of tempo in some sung parts, particularly that of the students. I actually managed to nab a more in tempo version of Hadley’s lines in an alternate delivery of his seen in the “West End Connection” video on Youtube.
I would like to do more if there’s interest (and maybe eventually release a full album with the songs even in the order they’d appear in onstage. No more Act 1 “On My Own…”
Let me know what you think and hope you all enjoy it!
“Maria” - Michael Ball (1993 studio recording)
On my birthday I learned that I have a lot of trouble playing piano while intoxicated, but my mom’s sleep-deprived lyrics to Stars are pretty much flawless.
In the multitude
Are really shiny
Shiny and twinkly
Shine your light on me
So I can find the man with the bread
The man with the bread
He stole the bread
He is working in a factory
And I saw him on the street
And I wasn’t sure it was him
Until he picked up the cart
And saved the woman
And then I knew
I must get the bread back
For my Nutella
It is hard to find Jean Valjean
Because he’s tricky and smart
And he picked up the cart
And if you fall like Lucifer fell
It hurts so bad
But I will find Jean Valjean
Because he has my bread
And I need to make a sandwich
And I will hunt him down and adopt a kid
Who will become a prostitute
At the wedding
The Thénardiers will tell on him
This I swear by the stars
It’s so frustrating
I’ll find Jean Valjean
MUSICAL SONG OF THE DAY | i just felt like posting this version of drink with me. 1991 french revival cast. it’s one of my absolute favourite renditions of the song. everyone’s voice is perfect for their character and basically it just leaves me in a puddle of emotion.
